Buried pipe line based Irrigation for Boro cultivation

Eagerness for buried based irrigation is being created among farmers in the context of Kaliganj Upazila under Jhenaidah district.  SBF is implementing LICREAT project with collective support fro  JFGE and Share the Planet Association Japan. Under this project we are working with hundreds farmers. Following the gained experiences of the 1^st year target farmers have been more enthusiastic in applying buried based irrigation in coming Aman season and next Boro season. Observing the effectiveness (Save land, time, water, money and less use of power generating materials through less Methane emission) of buried pipe based irrigation there was created great enthusiasm among the local farmers beyond the benefitted 140 farmers where buried based irrigation initiated. Following the gained experiences coming through the 1^st year experience, there was created a positive understanding among the farmers about the buried pipe based irrigation to Boro fields .  They are communicating with SBF for installing buried pipe to their respective area. In the meantime there has already done some ground works for selecting the new area (Field) for installing buried pipe based irrigation in the coming Amon and next Boro season.
